1966 Ford Mustang Convertible, long term ownership, Sympathetically restored, excellent condition both mechanically and cosmetically.

The car on offer here is this wonderful 1966 Mustang convertible. This car is a two owner car, with current ownership since 1987. The car was restored in 2006 with an eye towards making the car a good driver, not a concourse queen. The car was purchased by its second owner in 1990’s. The car was given a sympathetic restoration in the mid 90’s. It was repainted in its correct original Signal Flare Red (Code #5). The paint remains in excellent condition, with good shine and luster. There are some minor blemishes around the car as would be expected from a car that sees regular use. The Black interior received some restorative work; it shows well. The seats are original, and look good. All stainless trim and rubber seals are excellent and all rubber seals are moist and pliable. The original 289 CID engine was rebuilt at the time, it has a mild cam, starts easily and drives well with good power and torque. The brakes are newer as are the brake lines, master cylinder and wheel cylinders. The exhaust system is solid as is the suspension. The convertible top was replaced and the mechanism restored; the electric convertible top mechanism works well. As can be seen, lots of work has been done to make this car a great driver, and it remains in very nice condition. It starts easily, runs well and drives as it should. The original (rebuilt) Automatic Transmission shifts well and the clutch takes up with authority.
