The Classic Car Gallery 2316 Fairfield Ave. Bridgeport, CT 06605 203 256 9800 ClassicCarGallery.com 1941 Ford Super Deluxe Convertible. “Restored, in excellent condition both cosmetically and mechanically!!” VIN 186607563 The car on offer here is this stunning, Ford 1941 Super Deluxe convertible. The car was the recipient of an older body-off restoration, done with an open wallet. The car remains in wonderful condition both mechanically and cosmetically. A 221ci flathead V8. 3-speed on the column manual shifter and an automatic tan canvas convertible top make this car an icon of pre-war design. Exterior; This is a near show quality car. The Mayfair maroon paint is excellent with deep shine and good luster. All the panels are straight and true and the gaps are better than factory. The bumper guards wings, fender moldings, door handles, fender skirts, grille, light bezels, and window trims are all in excellent condition. The Super Deluxe trim, from its barrel shaped vertical ribbed V Grille and flanking side panels to its running boards and side skirts is very iconic. The rounded lines and bulbous fenders define the pre war automotive design genre. The quality of the restoration extends to the interior. The tan leather and tan carpets were restored and show well, with only a mild patina. The car has its correct heater and all gauges work as designed. The wheels are correct as are the trim rings and Ford logoed center caps. Wide white walls for all corners complete the look of this Super Deluxe! The door panels, and all Bakelite knobs and all the correct hardware is present. The dash is complete with its cream Bakelite trim; the brown painted areas have a strange patina. The original steering wheel also in Bakelite is in good condition. The trunk is paneled with the correct pressed board. Drivetrain; The original 221 cid flathead V8 has been rebuilt by a marque specialist; it starts easily idles smoothly and has good power and torque. It breathes through the correct 1-barrel carburetor, and the 3-speed manual on the column transmission shifts as designed. It retains its original 6-volt electrical system. Undercarriage; Its original X frame black steel chassis is excellent with no issues. The underside of the car is in excellent restored condition. Drive-Ability; She started right up, idles well and has good acceleration. The car drives well, brakes easily and shifts as it should. All systems function as they should and the engine runs cool.
